Former Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s condition is stable, but remains ‘critical’

The condition of the Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s health improved slightly on Thursday, but continues to be in critical ailment. Bhattacharjee was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday as he suffered from severe breathing difficulty.

According to the sources from the hospital, the 76-year-old veteran CPI(M) leader who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was still on ventilator assistance.

“ His condition is still critical. Preliminary investigation has shown that his blood parameters did not have any vital abnormality. His blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen saturation level are currently level,” a senior hospital staff said.

“ However, he will remain on ventilation for today (Thursday),” he added. A seven-member medical committee has been set up for Bhattacharjee’s treatment.
