Jharia, JNN: The Bharat Bandh that has been scheduled on 8 December in order of the agitating farmers protest movement to demand the withdrawal of the new farm law. All the opposition parties are supporting this bandh. They demonstrated the solidarity on Monday in Jharia coal fields to make it a success. The congress leaders and other parties staged a sit-in protest in front of the Jharia zone office and supported the farmers. The speakers appealed to the general public to make the bandh a success.
The Congress, JMM, RJD and Left parties have been preparing for several days to make the Bharat Bandh a success on 8 December. Protests, demonstrations and processions are being organized by opposition parties. It has also been supported by the unorganized laborers of coal fields. All opposition parties are supporting the demands of India’s agitating Annadata farmers, demanding the withdrawal of the new farm laws from the Narendra Modi government at the center.
Senior CPI(M) leader SK Bakshi, chairman of Bihar Colliery Workers Union, has justified the agitation being organized by farmers in various states of the country. The new farm laws are said to be dangerous for farmers. They said that this law will serve to take away the rights of farmers in future. The state representative of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress, Shamser Alam said that the PM has issued an anti-farmer ordinance without any debate in Parliament. It is an attempt to benefit some capitalists and weaken the country. Congress District Officer Mukhtar Khan said that farmers are feeling cheated by this bill. The Modi government is forcing farmers to commit suicide.
